- clothes from club monaco (and banana republic… though i haven’t been to either in ages) have, like so many stores, gone “ah!-people-are-afraid-of-numbers-so-let’s-make-size-6-a-0”. so jon, i sympathise.
- nasty suprise: rotting potatoes. bleeegh. *edit from tomatoes. really, we had rotting potatoes. i must have wanted tomatoes when i wrote this*
- marché 27: tasty! [PLT (Prosciutto, arugula, tomato) sandwich, with just the right touch of chili mayo, and the boyfriend had the 2 baked eggs ontop of ham & spinach, served with toast and a small serving of jam. espresso is a little unbalanced and on the acidic side. they serve mighty leaf tea (yum, earl gray!) as well. looking forward to returning for the tartare bar.]

a sense of false intimacy.
the same reason for my dismay at facebook when it started feeding friends’ updates. with this one click away from other’s thoughts and random scrapings of words. no, wait: it’s spoon-fed to you, whether you like it or not. conversed with the boy with my irritation of it all, the convenience of it all, and the audience. who do you write for? subconscious censoring because of a known (and limited) audience is bound to happen.
i don’t want this to become medium of pseudo-emails to my follower friends; i’d much prefer this to be a wider reaching-out to my network (the established one, yes). yet, those not already on tumblr (and who likely won’t start using tumblr because they’re on something else (blogger/wordprss/etc), or don’t feel the need to spew online, etc.) will of course frequent my thought stream less, if at all.

i suppose that was, indeed, cryptic.
just went to meet with the dude in charge of hiring at the brewpub around the corner - benelux (fantastic fantastic beer - and yes, i’ve become a beer drinker!!). i had bumped into a girl i knew from res at the grocery store a few days ago, found out she worked at lux wednesdays, and was moving back to ottawa in less than a week. just happened that we were planning on grabbing a pint there anyway yesterday (yes, wednesday!) as three of the people from savoy had birthdays around now(ish). wednesday nights = 2 pints for 7.50$ and usually entailed various mcgill varsity teams and drunkenness. since it was spring break, however, i figured the place would be quiet(er), and we dropped by for some stout & west coast pale ale (yum!).
anyway, gen mentioned that they were looking for a replacement for her yesterday when i asked whether or not they were hiring. so i presented myself. the fingers crossed was because of my feeble attempt at french - which! which! to which he responded in french (yes, excitement). now for the resume sending. and another set of crossed fingers because they’ll of course prefer someone who can stay beyond the end of april to work… *le sigh*.

it’s only a ‘tentative’ schedule, but nothing usually budges once it’s ‘tentative’. my ONE exam is on the 2nd last day (april 29). meaning a very brief trip back to toronto before northward-bound. not pleased.
